• Pray. Begin to spend personal time in prayer for your trip. Pray for spiritual power and wisdom; for your team, the missionaries we are working with, the Christians in Kampala who will be working with us, for safety as we travel to and from Uganda, and for good health and weather while we are working.
• Secure prayer partners. Give each a copy of your schedule so they can pray specifically for you. Note: Kampala is eight hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Schedule times to meet together for prayer as a team.
• Read the book Church Planting Movements.
• Develop your personal testimony (your story).
  
• Develop team spirit.
• Make copies of your passport; put a copy in each piece of luggage and keep a copy in the church office.
• Have a commissioning time for your team during the worship service the Sunday before leaving.
• Secure the remaining funds for the cost of the trip and send them to IMFC by the trip deadline.
• Make plans for transportation to and from the airport.
• Note the luggage restrictions as you prepare to pack: You can check two bags that weigh up to 50 lbs. and measure no more than 158 cm (length + width + height) each. You can carry on one bag that weighs no more than 22 lbs and is no larger than 55 x 35 x 25 cm. In addition to the carry-on bag, you can take a camera bag or handbag with you. You should not put a lock on your luggage, but you may want to place straps around it.
