As Manna ministry penetrates into communities people from all walks of life are reached with the Gospel. Even the local council leaders have a need for Jesus to save them. So here in Makerere Kivuulu, the secretary of women affairs gets to hear the Gospel and her need for a savior is met. She tells her story:

I am called Namudu Teddy. I am also the area women’s affairs secretary for my zone. I have resided in this place for a long time now, but I am very excited to share my testimony of trusting Jesus as lord and savior. Even the local leaders need Jesus! I am blessed to know Him the way I know Him now.  Our local people think that we who are involved in politics are passive about getting saved but here I am now saved!! Well I do agree that it’s a lot [more] difficult for those in politics here to get saved because many tend to enjoy the corruption here with its systems in place. But it its also true that God still saves the corrupt politicians as well. I am not more holy than those I left behind but I have I found what I have needed in life and that’s Jesus my love!!!

Yes before I used to [be a] local alcohol seller and this business gave the livelihood I and my family knew. I used to sell them to local bar owners like Muwonge who also got saved, praise Jesus!! I also battled with cancer, which left me without hair on my head for a long time because of the effects of the treatment.  I say that I personally looked for God and how to get His attention and fellowship. I was very empty even [though]I looked like one who had it all together but I was only a shadow of what people saw on the outside.

I visited so many places of worship, looking for real joy and fulfillment but I failed! I went from meetings to meetings looking for miracles the different preachers promised but I looked in vain!!! I gave up and told myself that no one has this true joy and fulfillment. I even told myself that nobody knows and so there is no need to search for that since no one can ever get to know the truth about God! But let me tell you that God knew my need and He knew my quest for Him. And He sent the Manna team who even at the beginning of my meeting with them did not even tell me that they were born-again. So [when] I saw them pray for one of the recipients I asked them about how can one know God and have a perfect fellowship with Him. They just got down teaching all what was very new to me and the word was very sweet! As they told me about Jesus and [that] He wants to have fellowship with me and He has made Himself available to me!

Well I got very hard at them asking them more questions as to how that was true!! Pastor Benon, Joseph and Douglas took their time with me and showed me from the Bible of how that was and is so true!! I was left defenseless when they told about how sin has separated with God, I was overwhelmed with the truth that I just confessed with my mouth which I used to use to say that there is no God, now I used it to confess that God is there and Jesus is now my lord and savior!! I also believed with my heart that He is my savior!!! That same heart that always doubted God…now I believed using it!!! Yes I knelt before JESUS in the presence of Pastor Benon, Joseph and Douglas in reverence to Him as my Lord and Savior my real love and joy giver!!!! Yes I now have all the joy and contentment!!!

Knowing that I needed the word of God in life I asked the team to avail that to me, and Joseph just enrolled me into Bible Way course for discipleship. I got enrolled and my student number is 53218 and I am currently doing the WHO IS JESUS book. I want to get baptized after I finish with that very book. I still do remember that day that I got saved; it was the 19th of January 2007 at about 4:00 p.m. near the Nakasero Deliverance Church in an open field 

I have gotten to use my office to mobilize for JESUS now!!! Not for politicking!! But to get people for church to worship Jesus and to be trained and equipped with the truth of God’s word in order to make disciples for Him!! I am now a member of the Makerere Kivuulu Christian Network!! I love it out here!!! My husband is also getting ministered to!!! He joined the Bible way course together with me!! He is doing great!! We are changed!!!

I want to thank God for Manna ministry because I and my family got reached out to!! I want to thank IMFC and partners!  The work you have all done has blessed the women here so much!! Prostitutes have turned to trust God and witchdoctors have turned to Jesus!! Children have been ministered to with love!! Drunks [are] now sober and [have] gotten to turn to God!! My constituency of women is now a better people and better mothers because you came and served us with love!! We even have a T4T for ladies at the Kampala ministry center, which I go to every Monday! This has equipped me not only to lead the ladies here but to offer a Godly counsel to them when in need!!!  My being saved is a challenge to my colleges in politics that even the local leader needs Jesus!! Yes I use every opportunity to share the word of God with them!! Praise be to Jesus!!!
