UPDATE 6/07 from Douglas

Safina walking to the Celebration

Safina walks to church

Today at the food distribution, i was thrilled to see Safina Nakabazi walk by herself all the way to the tent to celebrate Jesus!! It's the first time she is able to celebrate at the food distribution here in Kisuugu. Wow! Praise be to Jesus!!

Yes I am so thrilled seeing this precious child of God who has been bedridden since September last year, now able to walk and leave her sick bed!

Hey beloved out there, God is at work! His ability is made manifest in our eyes today! Be encouraged your labor is not vain. It's having good results! if Safina can walk then we should continue to bless God for Manna ministry! Here is a picture to help keep this good history made by God for our eyes to see and believe Him!

Thanks for your prayers and giving to Manna ministry. It is through your giving that we able to reach out to Safina and others in her kind of life.

Testimony
March, 2007

Miss Safina Nakabazi, 31 years old and with 4 children tells her story.
Safina has been bed-ridden with AIDS/HIV since September last year. She used to work as a charcoal seller eaning about 750 shillings as daily income from this business. In her own words...

I am Safina as already introduced to you and what I could add on my introduction is, that I came to Kisuugu some years back to look for a job. I was promised a good life here in the city and the job offer was to be a House Maid (house girl) and I did this for 4 years and thereafter I left in order to get married, which I failed. The man I related with in a causal way left me with 4 children. He had broken alot his promise to me and in order to cover up this guilt he had, he turned to violence at home. He would beat me every day. I got fed-up and just wanted to end my life! But just in time he is the one who ran away from home! It was relief but also a problem come. I got to struggle with the children alone until , one day i gave into another relationship which also did not last long ONLY about 3 years becuase the man passed away with AIDS/HIV! After this man' death I knew that I needed to check my self if I am clear of the virus but un-fortunately i got it! oh!! oh! I hurt so bad!! I am now so sick and bed-ridden. I am so broken!!

So here I was in this desparate situation and now gotten to depend on good-will from my neighbours which sometimes I failed to get! My body started to lose the size and figure, I got so small that even my eye balls got not to be seen sometimes! I cried every day!! I did not have anything to eat. food was my greatest need in order to build -up immunity in my body, but there was none! I got one meal in 4 days!! I could only find water for me! because its easy for people to give you water than food. Food is very expensive!! Yes it was even to me a luxury to have three meals a day!
you know you are helpless, thats when you really get to count your real friends! My only near by friend has been my daughter Amina. She has been the one who really has seen it all; the tears and the hurt that has befallen on me!

Now here is the good part:
One day a team of strangers walked in my house, i could not see them very well but i could hear their voices, they were saying like a prayer but i could not figure it out! After three weeks my daughter told me that these other people brought us food! what food I asked? But she said there is rice, posho, beans and cooking!! I just blacked out! It was too good to believe. Anyways these people came back to visit me and this time I was able to see their faces!!! it was the Manna ministry team, as the chairman local council introduced them to me! I said ''webale nyo (thank so much! in Luganda.)'' It really thrilled me becuase they were Born-again and yet did not discriminate against me a Moslem at that time!! The food I got was enough for the month. it was very high quality food!

The food I got is a big gift to my family. This food brought me hope beyond hope!!
There have been a couple of people who come and say all kinds of words but the Manna team came prayed and followed-up me with food and regular visits to my house!! Thanks so much! I was very bitter at God but you came in and help me see the lovingness and the caringness of God and this made to believe and trust Jesus as my lord and saviour. i know that even if I do not get healed I will go to be with Jesus!!! amen!!!

Please accept my thanks and appreciation for all the love that I have now known through you!! and the care to bring me the word of Hope!!! yes I am getting better!!! I am now better and will be ok!!! webale nyo, webale nyo, webale dala!!!( thanks so much, thanks so much, thanks big time!!)

May you continue to keep this wonderfull work of God that has brought people like me alot of hope!! May God reward you all and I hope one day I will see you all in heaven if the Lord wills!!!

Please do continue to pray as you remember me!! I want to go fellowship but I am still too weak to get there. But with God its possible!!! I am really glad that you came to help out in this place , because thats how got to know God better and thats how I got to be reached out!!!
