Back to Manna Testimonies

Katanga has more than 4,000 people. Most of these are from western Uganda. By and large they are poorly educated, and live by selling what they have. Many are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. There are many Muslims and many witch doctors, as well as cultic churches, vying for the allegiance of the people who live there. There was no Baptist work here when we came. Now there are three churches and local leaders are helping the new believers grow in their faith. At the first food distribution, two witch doctors were saved!

Annett Kabagema

AnnetteMy name is Annett Kabagema. I am 56 years old and a widow . I gave my life to Jesus in 2002. BUT I had never known what I do know now: That God is able! My life before was just a cross road, I did not know how to deal with problems that came my way. My only daughter got pregnant while I was trying to look for school fees. The man that fathered her child is a taxi conductor. He left her for another girl, with a pregnancy that was in a very crucial time. All these just made me crazy. You mothers would understand me better. I even failed to pray most times. I was hurting every day over this issue. My business of collecting matooke peelings was down because of lack of capital . I thought God had abandoned me! But then the Manna team came and everything changed. These people cared to listen to all my stories and showed compassion and also prayed for me. I asked them how they found me out, and they said that God knew me and He pointed the way to my place. I am so blessed to know that all along God was on His way bringing me all this hope and love. My daughter delivered a beautiful baby girl , I named her WITNESS to help remind us that me and family are living witnesses to God’s love and providence.

This food came with a lot of hope for us. We got our own house church in our neighborhood. The leaders are people that come from within so they are much available to us for prayers and counseling.

House churchNow for six months I do not have to worry about food, because its provided for. My 3 dependents now are more secure. I have also gotten to be involved in mobilizing people for church activities here. I have been able to save some little money and now I have my job back! I am so glad some one cared to give that I would be blessed and also to bring me to be joined to the Kampala Christian Church Network. God bless you all who have given to us and also prayed for us.
