Salvina and her car
Salvina and her vehicle

Salvina is a missionary with the state convention of Pernambuco. She graduated from the seminary in Recife. She needed a car to visit the rural area around Mirandiba, doing evangelism, discipling converts, and training leaders. There was only very inconvenient transportation (walking, riding in the back of a truck after dark) to visit these areas.

In one area, eight people had accepted Christ, but Salvina could only visit there once a month (more than an hour on foot) so much of the work was lost.  The car, which IMFC helped to procure, helps Salvina get to the rurual areas where she starts new churches and disciples new Christians.

Sharing with adults

Chuck Watson and two other businessmen, Tim Snow of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Gary Dorr of Centralia, Missouri, made a trip to Mirindiba, Brazil in November, 2005. They had a full schedule of prayerwalking, showing Christian films, preaching, and sharing the gospel in several neighborhoods and schools. They also visited a jail, where they held a service with singing and preaching and shared afterwards with the prisoners. Seven prisoners accepted Christ.

For two days, a Christian band, Fruto da Terra, came and played in the square in Mirandiba where they showed the Jesus film and had a short time of sharing the Gospel afterwards. Give thanks for the open access to the people and for those who came to know the Lord. Continue to pray for Salvina and others who minister in and around Mirandiba.
